Comedian Mike Marino On His Career in Show Business
Major Comedy Clubs and Theaters. Television and Movies. New Jersey Comedy Hall of Fame.
If it has to do with entertainment, there’s a great chance this guy has brushed shoulders with it…
The real Italian stallion, no not rocky balboa, but a man that has his roots in the fruits of the upbringing of a family that carried such values.
His comedic style has landed him guest appearances on The Tonight Show as a regular sketch player, The Martin Short Show, Canada’s Comedy TV, The Boomer Show, Wild Pitch, and Hand Held Comedy Radio…
At 29 years old he decided to pivot and explore being a comic after giving it a shot, what the heck!
He enjoys the thrill of people laughing at the crack of a joke…
Give him some of your attention and it will be hard to see him doing anything but making people laugh.
He is fully living in his genius…
And he wants more.
Thankfully he was humble enough to be real and share this mentality he has…
“You're gonna get booed more than you're gonna get an applause when you first start.”
He talks about how comedy comes from truth, that people connect to this.
He reacts to questions that I ask with a stable and authentic response that makes you think twice about ever diverting from who you are.
This was a powerful booster for him.
In fact, during our conversation, he shares how nice it is to be a humble guy doing what he loves…even when it involves fans seeing him in public.
The Italian Champion were talking about is, Mike Marino.
Here are a few of his centered and funny words from our conversation…
“I would like to break balls and bust people's chops and say something stupid, maybe pull a prank on somebody”
“I tried coming up with the characters because I was always a fan of the Martin Lawrence show”
“I never wanna hurt anybody's feelings. I do care about people in general and there are some people that actually might have a huge legitimate grievance on what they don't want to hear”
He’s Always on the GROW and during this Podcast we college a collage of his lifetime of experience and ways he sees not only his career but elements of life that exist in reality…
He starts us off and leads us down a road that strengthens the overall conversation of humor and empowerment and what it means to receive jokes without being offended.
Mike was nice enough to join us while on the road in between shows.
Grateful he was willing to come in and offer his thoughts on some life as he sees it.
Later in the show, we cover insecurities, the envy that he still has and what he still wants as part of his entertainment goals. And it’s no simple objective either.
I met Mike years ago, we have some mutual friends and I’ve been to several of his shows and something that came up during this show that he mentions… the success value of people he has seen make it because of hard work.
Welcome the Always on the GROW Podcast Laugh Zone (maybe that is a theather somewhere), but in reality this is a good mix of funny and growth principles as we cover:
How the right people around you can make or break you…
The joy of doing what you love and wanting to do it all the way up to the end
The real truth about laughter and comedy
Mike is living his best life, unmarried, no kids and a mission to continue being on stage gives this man all the pleasure in life he needs, whether he is coming up with new ideas to try on stage or getting on an airplane to be met by fans who admire him, one thing is for sure, he doesn’t mind having the humility to never let his head get too big that he lets his Italian roots leave the ground…
Let’s have a good time together, the video conversation is here! Get your popcorn.
